Catermasters win Young & Rubicam contract

Workplace catering specialist, Catermasters, has added Young & Rubicam to its list of clients in central London. The contract is for an initial three-year period – with an option for a further two years – and is worth around £450,000 per annum.

Young & Rubicam is a global marketing and communications company and its UK headquarters are at Greater London House in Camden. It put its foodservice contract out to tender towards the end of 2013, having worked with its previous supplier for 11 years.

Catermasters, which has a portfolio of 125 clients across the UK, saw off three other suppliers to emerge successful from the tender process and has now started to provide a distinctive breakfast, lunch, deli, coffee bar and hospitality service (Monday to Friday) to the 550 Young & Rubicam employees at Greater London House.

Paul Whittle, Young & Rubicam Facilities Manager, said: “Catermasters ticked all of the boxes during the tender and have shown lots of hunger to succeed since coming on site. They are clearly passionate about great food and I think we’re in good hands. We visited Catermasters’ site at the British Heart Foundation as part of the tender process and we were very impressed with the set-up at what is almost a like-for-like site to ours.

“Catermasters have brought a real spark back to the kitchen and have already invested in building a new coffee bar to bring a bit of theatre to our restaurant. I’ve already had lots of great feedback from the staff and there is a definite buzz around the place.”

Nigel Johnson, Catermasters Joint Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Young & Rubicam and to be providing them with the standard of service they were looking for. We aim to bring lots of enthusiasm, passion and skill to our sites because we know it ensures the best possible results. That will continue to be our approach at Greater London House.”
