Fernox to attend Ecobuild 2015

STAND NUMBER: N6150

Fernox will once again be attending Ecobuild, the UK’s leading event for sustainable design, construction and energy. The exhibition will provide an ideal platform for the team to present its comprehensive range of chemical water treatments as well as introduce its ground–breaking, new commercial filter, the TF1 Delta Filter, which will be complemented by a new range of commercial chemicals that are coming soon in 2015.

Professional installers and social housing providers can visit Fernox at stand N6150, where the company will be showcasing its range of cleaning products such as the Fernox Cleaner F3 and Powerflushing Cleaner F5. The company’s ESTR approved inhibitor Fernox Protector F1 will also be displayed, which when used in combination with Cleaner F3, will not only effectively clean heavily sludged systems, but can achieve gas savings of up to 15%.

New for this year is the Fernox TF1 Delta Filter. Designed specifically for commercial applications, it is suitable for large volume, low temperature heating and cooling systems. It is specifically designed to protect vital components from magnetic and non-magnetic debris as well as removing any trapped air in the system. The filter works by utilising hydrocyclonic action to deliver contaminants to the unit’s specially designed magnet assembly, successfully removing and containing them from the circulating system water.

“With over 44,000 attendees last year, Ecobuild is an important event for us as it provides an ideal opportunity for Fernox to promote the importance of chemical water treatment and best installation methods to trade professionals from a multitude of sectors,” said Francine Wickham, Global Marketing Director at Fernox. “We are also delighted to launch our new product the TF1 Delta Filter at this year’s event. This extension to our filter range ensures that all types of systems and customers can benefit from the unrivalled protection a TF1 filter and chemical water treatment combined can provide.”

Smart to Unveil Additions to Alitherm Heritage Range at Ecobuild

Commercial systems specialist Smart Architectural Aluminium will again have a major presence at Ecobuild, with the company unveiling a number of new products at the show and showcasing its existing systems in a range of applications.

Featuring prominently in the Smart display will be three new additions to the company’s popular Alitherm Heritage range, with the launch of new pivot and tilt & turn window options as well as a new double door.

Reflecting the distinctive slim profiles of steel products, Smart’s new window variants have been developed to fit into traditional openings, while the new double door are the first to have been designed specifically to replicate steel balcony doors.

Alitherm Heritage’s thermally-broken windows are ideal for sensitive planning areas and for renovation and refurbishment projects, and with a ‘B’ Window Energy Rating, they deliver the perfect combination of elegant aesthetics and outstanding thermal performance. Both door and window ranges are available in either single or dual polyester powder coated finishes, and the windows have been weather tested in accordance with BS6375: Part 1.

At Ecobuild, visitors will see the full Alitherm Heritage range, with the new pivot and tilt & turn products being displayed in an arched-head format – a design commonly found in buildings with steel windows and which can only be replicated by Smart’s Alitherm Heritage range. The display will also showcase the Alitherm Heritage window in an art deco, curved on-plan setting, as well as the new balcony doors.

Focusing on thermal performance and energy efficiency, Smart will also be displaying its new Greenstar window. Delivering the ultimate in energy efficiency, Greenstar has a u-value of 0.9, the lowest of any window system available, which is achieved through the use of triple glazing and by foam-filling the cavities of the thermally-broken aluminium profiles. While Greenstar offers the ultimate performance for commercial applications, new profiles have been added to the Alitherm 800 range to deliver exceptional energy efficiency for residential projects.

Also on display will be a new addition to the high performance Visoglide sliding door range. With slim lines, the new interlocking, ‘lift and slide’ door can be locked in any position from closed to fully open, making it the ideal solution for multi-storey apartment buildings as well as large scale commercial and retail environments.

The new Smart Wall Rebated door completes the set of product launches for Ecobuild.  Incorporating an anti-finger trap solution and having been certified to PAS24 for security and BS6375 for weather testing, this door is the perfect option for buildings with high footfall such as schools, hospitals and libraries – still with excellent U-values and weather protection. As with all the new products on display, the Smart Wall door is suitable for both new build and retrofit projects.

Commenting on the company’s display, Smart Managing Director, Eddie Robinson said: “Ecobuild has proved to be a great platform to showcase new products, and this year we are delighted to be bringing such a wide range of innovative systems to show visitors.

“However as well as products, we will also be talking about our 15,000 square metre factory extension which is due to open in summer 2015. The development will see the installation of our third aluminium extrusion press and second paint line, adding around fifty percent to our overall manufacturing capacity.

“The development will bring a significant increase in capacity to meet the growing demand for our systems from architects, contractors, fabricators and installers across the UK, but it will also ultimately see the installation of two wind turbines on site. In keeping with our commitment to deliver sustainable processes and materials, the renewable energy turbines will enable our manufacturing plant to become entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy supply.”

Wolf Systems showcases Horizon BIM Software at Ecobuild 2015

The UK’s only Revit-based timber frame detailing software

Timber frame, trussed rafter and floor designers who need to collaborate on BIM projects should make a visit to Wolf Systems top of their list at Ecobuild 2015.

The company, which specialises in the manufacture of products and software for timber engineering and design, will be demonstrating its Horizon BIM software on stand N5020 in the BIM section of the Sustainable Design and Construction Hall.

Horizon software is the UK’s only timber frame tool built on Autodesk’s leading Revit Structure platform. Developed by Wolf Systems in-house software team, it draws on the company’s extensive expertise in timber frame design and timber engineering. The result is a system that allows timber frame designers to quickly and easily create intelligent 3D objects that represent physical building details such as wall panels, floors and roof trusses. These can be manipulated and specified to represent just about every real-world timber framing application and construction method.

As the first and only Revit-based BIM software for timber design, Horizon has enabled all disciplines involved in a collaborative BIM project to work from a single integrated model. As a result, design revisions and changes are automatically updated throughout the entire model, so amendments only need to be made once. This reduces errors, improves accuracy and streamlines workflow – not just for the person making the change but for everybody working from the model.

Speaking about Horizon, Karl Foster, sales and marketing director of Wolf Systems, explained that the use of BIM software is becoming increasingly important requirement for designers and manufacturers. He said: “By 2016, all public sector projects with a value of £5 million or above will need to be undertaken in a collaborative BIM environment. Through Horizon we are giving our customers the edge, because for the first time they will be able to work with organisations such as the public sector or large house builders that require all suppliers to work in a BIM environment.

“At Ecobuild timber frame, roof and floor designers will have the opportunity to come to our stand and see the software in action and see just how powerful it is and how easy it is to use. And of course, as we are in the BIM section they will be able to make a direct comparison between Horizon and other software providers and see the benefits for themselves.

“With less than a year to 2016, we expect this year to see a huge increase in the adoption of BIM, so it’s important that the timber frame industry doesn’t get left behind.

Wolf Systems is part of the Wolf Group, a family business with more than 45 years’ experience in timber engineering that employs around 3,000 staff across 21 European countries. The company manufactures and supplies nailplates, metal webs and software for the design of roof trusses, metal web joists and timber frame wall panels. This is supported by bespoke design services, training and outstanding customer support.

Wolf Systems, which was established in 1988, serves the UK market and is head of software and product development for the company’s timber engineering business. It has a UK-wide network of trussed rafter manufacturers and has established a reputation for making timber engineering as easy as possible.

For further information about Horizon BIM software visit Wolf systems on stand N5020 in the BIM section of the Sustainable Design and Construction Hall at Ecobuild at Excel Centre, London (3rd to 5th March). Alternatively visit www.wolfsystem.co.uk or telephone 02476 602303.

Saniflo exhibits at Ecobuild

One of the leading names in the plumbing & drainage sector, Saniflo, has added its name to the list of exhibitors attending this year’s Ecobuild exhibition at the Excel Centre from 3rd – 5th March; stand number N7141.

This is the first time the company has booked its own stand at the show; a decision that was taken following the launch of the company’s latest product, the Sanicubic XL. This pumping station – which can handle 40m³ of grey water waste per hour – offers the company a real opportunity to provide waste solutions for large, commercial projects and the Ecobuild show provides the perfect platform to showcase not only the new unit, but also a wider range of Saniflo products that are already finding favour in commercial projects throughout the UK.

Featuring alongside the new Sanicubic XL will be one of the company’s popular Kinemagic cubicles. The innovative design of the Kinemagic range is proving to be highly appealing to specifiers because it requires no silicone and grout in its installation and the internal opaque panels eliminate the need for tiling; meaning that a new cubicle can be up and running in just a few hours in a pre-prepared area.

Saniflo is looking forward to welcoming visitors to its stand during the course of the show.
