3D Breast Imaging Catches Cancer Early

Artic help unveil the new 3D Breast Scanner at Darent Valley Hospital. The £74k technologically advanced piece of equipment was purchased thanks to money raised through Valley Hospital Charity’s Cancer Fighting Fund, part of which was the challenging ‘Cycle to Amsterdam’ charity fundraise that Artic were part of, raising over £56,000 on its own.
The digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) will provide 3-D mammography at Darent Valley Hospital, allowing clinical staff to view breast tissue in greater detail. It is an advanced form of mammography – a specific type of breast imaging that uses low-dose x-rays to detect cancer early when it is most treatable.

“We really couldn’t have raised such a fantastic amount of money without the support of our fundraisers, including Charlotte Pinder and Lee Rumble from Artic who took part in the Cycle to Amsterdam ride, and Artic Building Services who very kindly sponsored us.” Darent Valley Hospital
