Robertson Facilities Management sweeps up community award

Robertson Facilities Management (FM) has won the Corporate Social Responsibility award at the Cleaning & Support Services Association Awards (CSSA) 2017 in London.

Robertson Communities – a not-for profit business within Robertson FM – picked up the award in a category that recognises businesses for offering services to the wider community as part of a pre-planned strategy.

The CSSA Corporate Social Responsibility award identifies the work of Robertson Communities which has helped to engage with 12,000 people, provide local employment for young people, support local businesses, and create opportunities and career progression for its cleaning staff.

Commenting on the accolade, Ian Gibson, Managing Director of Robertson FM, said: “Through Robertson Communities we have been able to push the boundaries of facilities management even further. This has enabled Robertson to create meaningful relationships within its communities and create new opportunities for attracting talent to the industry.

“I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of the team over the past year has been recognised. The high levels of service and enthusiasm from them has created significant results in each community project.

“In 2017 we seek to expand the programme to more communities as we look to engage with more schools.”

Robertson Communities is a professionally managed community use service formed using Robertson FM experience and knowledge of existing community use programmes. Its aim is to enhance lives and build meaningful, lasting partnerships between schools and their local communities.

The inaugural Cleaning & Support Services Association Awards recognises everything that shines within the UK cleaning sector. This year’s ceremony was held at the Excel in London in conjunction with The Cleaning Show.
